AI Voice Agent for Insurance Companies
Insurance phone lines spike exactly when something has gone wrong for the customer. An AI voice agent answers immediately, captures first notice of loss in a consistent format, answers cover and renewal questions from your own documents, and routes claims to the handler who should own them. It does not advise on cover.

What the AI Agent Handles for Insurance Brokers and Insurers
First notice of loss
Captures what happened, when, where and the policy number, in the same structure every time, ready for a handler.
Policy lookup
Identifies the caller against the policy before asking questions, where your system allows it.
Renewal questions
Answers renewal dates, payment method and document requests from your own records.
Cover scope questions
Reads back what your policy documents say, and passes interpretation to a person.
Claims routing
Sends motor, property and liability claims to the right team rather than a general queue.
Out of hours capture
Takes the details overnight so a handler starts the day with a complete claim rather than a voicemail.
What a Call Actually Sounds Like
These are written call flows, not recordings of somebody else’s business. We build and demo them on your own services, prices and awkward questions.
First notice of loss
Caller: I have had a bump in the car park.
AI agent: I am sorry. Is anybody injured?
Caller: No, everyone is fine.
AI agent: Good. Can I take your policy number, and the date and time it happened?
Caller: It was this morning, about half nine.
AI agent: Thank you. Was another vehicle involved, and do you have their details?
In the background: a claim record is created with the incident details and routed to the motor claims queue for a handler to call back.
A question it will not answer
Caller: Am I covered if my son drives it?
AI agent: That depends on the wording on your policy and I am not going to guess at it. I am putting you through to someone who can read your cover and tell you properly.
In the background: the call is transferred with the policy already identified so the caller does not repeat themselves.
What It Connects To
An agent that only talks moves the work to whoever reads the transcript. The value is in what the call changes in the systems you already run.
Policy and claims systems
Policy lookup and claim creation where your platform exposes an API.
Existing telephony
Added to your current queues and departments through SIP, FreePBX or Asterisk.
Controlled access
Scoped credentials, and recording and transcript retention configured to your requirements.
Custom integrations
Older policy administration systems are normal work. If one cannot be reached safely we say so.
The telephony side is our own work rather than something we leave to you: see FreePBX integration, SIP trunking and API integration. Where a system you use has no usable API, or an off the shelf tool would do the job cheaper than a build, we will tell you that before you spend anything.
Calls Coming In, and Calls You Should Be Making
Inbound
The calls arriving now, including the ones that currently ring out.
- First notice of loss capture
- Policy and renewal questions
- Document and certificate requests
- Claim progress chasing
- Routing to the correct claims team
Outbound
The calls that get made when somebody finds the time, which is rarely.
- Renewal reminders before expiry
- Chasing outstanding claim documents
- Confirming appointments with assessors
- Mid term adjustment follow ups
- Returning missed and out of hours calls
On outbound. Automated calling is regulated, and the rules differ by country and by call type. Consent, calling hours, do not call registers and disclosure that the caller is speaking to an automated system all apply in most places. We build campaigns to the rules that apply to you, and the lawful basis for calling remains yours.
AI Voice Agents for Insurance Brokers and Insurers: Common Questions
Will it give advice on cover?
No. The agent reads back what your documents say and captures what the customer tells it. Anything that requires interpreting cover, recommending a product or making a decision on a claim goes to a person. That boundary is written into its rules rather than left to its judgement, because getting it wrong in insurance is a regulatory problem, not just a service one.
Can it take a claim properly?
It can take first notice of loss in a consistent structure: what happened, when, where, who else was involved, policy number and contact details. That is usually the slowest part of the call and the part most often incomplete when taken in a rush. A handler then picks it up with everything already recorded.
How is customer data handled?
The agent gets the narrowest set of fields it needs, over encrypted connections with credentials scoped per integration. Recording and transcripts are configurable and can be switched off. We build to the requirements your compliance team gives us, and we do not publish certifications we cannot evidence.
Can it work with our existing claims system?
If it has a documented API, yes. If not, the agent still captures the claim and creates the task or emails the structured summary to the right queue, which is still faster than a voicemail transcript. We check what your platform supports before quoting.
What about vulnerable customers?
Distress is an escalation trigger. Callers who are upset, confused or describing an injury can be routed straight to a person, and we set those rules deliberately cautious at launch.
